TO RE-ASSEMBLE WATER PUMP
1. With the shorter end foremost, press the shaft and
bearing assembly into the rear of the water pump.
2. Press the unitised seal into shaft.
3. Fit the impeller with blades inwards on to the rear
of the shaft.
Clearance between the blades of the impeller
and the pump body is 0.2/ 0.5 mm (0.010/ 0.020”).
Check the clearance using feeler guage / dial
guage.
4. Replace the four setscrews used for securing the
water pump on to the timing case cover.
5. Supporting the shaft at the impeller end, press on
the water pump pulley.
Distance between the front end of the fan
mounting face to the rear face of the pump body
is 99.80 mm (3.929 inch).
6. Spin the assembly to ensure freedom of movement.
To Re-t Water Pump to Engine
1. Fit the water pump with new joint.(Fig.G.6)
2. Connect water pump inlet and by-pass hose
connections.
3. Replace fan belt and adjust belt tension.
4. Replace fan.
