1. Ensure that the contact faces of the cylinder block
and of the balancershaft bearing cap are clean and
the dowel are fitted correctly to the balancer shaft
bearing cap. (Fig.J.6)
2. Fit the balancershaft upper bearing, apply oil
and place the balancershaft in position as shown.
(Fig.J.7)
3. Fit lower halves of balancershaft bearing to bearing
cap.
4. Fit and tighten the balancershaft securing bolt to
torque 33 Nm (24 lbf ft)

Note: The cap bolts should be tightend evenly to the
specified torque.
5. Fit the balancershaft rear end bush, ensure the oil
hole is aligned.

6. Ensure that the balancershaft turns freely.
7. Check the end float fo the balancershaft.
End float : 0.075 / 0.150 mm (0.003 / 0.006’’)
8. Fit the balancershaft gear and tighten the bolt to
torque 105 Nm
9. Fit the timing gears ( if removed), ensure the timing
marks are aligned properly.
10. Check the backlash between the gears.
0.060/ 0.140 mm (0.0023/ 0.0055”)
11. Rotate the crankshaft through two turns to ensure
that it is free to rotate.
12. Fit the other parts in the reverce order.
