Subsection 04 (DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY)

Put apart valve spring retainer and spring.
Repeat procedure for exhaust valve but ensure
that valve rotator no. 14 is removed first. Refer to
the following photo.
1. On exhaust valve only, remove valve rotator then remove valve
spring retainer
Pull out both valves from cylinder head.
INSPECTION
Refer to COMPRESSION TEST AND ENGINE DI-
MENSIONS MEASUREMENT 04-05.
ASSEMBLY
Slide exhaust valve (small diameter) into exhaust
valve guide, then slide intake valve (large diame-
ter) into intake guide. See next photo.
Install springs and secure with valve spring retain-
ers.
EXHAUST AND INTAKE VALVES SECURED IN PLACE
1. Exhaust valve (small diameter) location
2. Intake valve (large diameter) location
Install valve rotator on exhaust valve.
CAUTION: To avoid engine damage, ensure
that exhaust valve rotator is properly installed
on exhaust valve, as shown in the next photo.
