SOLO BETA User Manual
Section 9 _ Communication Port:
This is the port that gives you the access to UART and CAN communication pins in order to
send/receive fully digital commands in form of data packets. Notice that, The UART_TX,
UART_RX, CAN_TX and CAN_RX are strictly leveled at 3.3V and they are NOT 5V tolerant.
Applying 5V leveled signals to these pins will cause permanent damage to the main controller unit.
To be able to send or receive 5V leveled signals, you can use digital level shifters which are very
cheap and available in the market.
Beside Digital commands, through this connector you will have access to Analogue inputs “S/T” ,
“P/F” and “DIR” exactly like the Analogue port in section 3 , and similarly you can send your
analogue commands by PWM or Analogue voltages through these pins as well.
The communication port provides you two supply voltages of 3.3V and 5V with the main Ground (
reference) of SOLO, so you can use them to feed external modules with mentioned current limit.
