Adding to an Existing Sonos System
For help adding a component to your Sonos Multi-Room music system, you can go

When and why should I use a wireless connection?
The Sonos Multi-Room Music System uses a built-in wireless connection to
communicate between Sonos components. This means ZonePlayers can be placed
anywhere in and around your home and connect wirelessly when a wired Ethernet
connection is not available.
Use wireless connections when:
• You don’t want to install network cables
• You may want to move the ZonePlayer
• There is enough wireless signal strength for the ZonePlayer to function reliably
Note: Thick walls, 2.4 GHz cordless telephones, or the presence of other
wireless devices can interfere with or block the wireless network signals from
your Sonos Multi-Room Music System. Once you locate your ZonePlayer, if you
are experiencing difficulty, you can try one (or more) of the following resolutions
— relocate the ZonePlayer, change the wireless channel your music system is
operating on (see page A-4), or make a wired connection by connecting an
Ethernet cable from your router to the ZonePlayer, or from one ZonePlayer to
another.
