3. If at that point the X-ray tube is not switched on, subsequently, the high-
voltage supply will be shut down gradually and automatically.
The instrument server will be closed.
4. Turn the key-operated switch to its horizontal position.
5. Select the “Start” menu in the Windows user interface and the “Exit”
command.
The computer is turned off.
The instrument is switched off.
5.5 Standby mode
(see also Chapter 5.2)
Observe the following instructions regarding the standby mode:
If the spectrometer was shut down for more than two days, the X-ray tube
must be run under standby conditions for at least 20 minutes. Start measuring
only after this period.
If the spectrometer was shut down for more than one month, the X-ray tube
must be run under standby conditions for at least 1 hour. Start measuring only
after this period.
