6.3 Standardization (Global recalibration)
After a while, the beryllium window of the detector may become smudged. This
may increase the absorption of light elements.
A standardization should only be performed if the results during the measurement
of reference samples is outside of the expected range and other causes, such as
position of the sample or sample preparation, can be ruled out.
Samples for standardizing the instrument are enclosed in the scope of supply.
In order to standardize the instrument, proceed as follows:
1. Press the "Recalibration" button.
A window opens. Press the "Start Recalibration" button and follow the
instructions.
After the measurement is completed, a result window is displayed.
The standardization (global recalibration) is completed.
