5.6.2 Proceed with the measurement
Caution! Risk of crushing injuries!
When closing the sample chamber lid, there is an inherent risk of crushing injuries.
When closing the sample chamber lid keep the fingers out of the sample
chamber.
Notice! Risk of damage!
If sample liquid leaks into the spectrometer, the detector and the excitation
compartment might be damaged significantly.
Measure the liquid samples in cuvettes in the "liquid protect" sample cup
with protective film.
Never measure samples in cuvettes in a vacuum.
When switching on the vacuum pump while the sample chamber is open, the
pump will work without resistance and be destroyed.
Never switch on the vacuum pump if the sample chamber is open.
To measure the sample, proceed as follows:
1. Place the sample(s) on the sample tray and subsequently insert the sample
tray into the sample chamber.
When measuring large samples, depending on the sample size, use up to
three single sample holders.
2. Close the sample chamber lid.
3. Click on the sample position in the sample data table on the screen.
For measurements without tray (large samples), always select trade
position 1.
4. Enter the sample data into the sample data table.
5. Start the measurement using the “Start” button.
The measurement is performed automatically.
6. Perform further measurements if required.
The measurement is complete.
Note
Measure a reference sample at regular intervals. This will allow you to identify
changes of the measurement results in good time.
