Operation
SPECTRO XEPOS — 19.01.2017 — 35
Always measure the following samples with gas flushing or in a diluted condition:
gassing samples,
highly volatile samples,
flammable samples,
samples with a Cl content of more than 2%.
After completing the measurement of liquid and powdery samples, the
spectrometer will sound a signal. Furthermore, a message on the screen will
prompt you to remove the sample trays with the cuvettes from the sample
chamber.
How to measure powder pallets
We recommend pressing the pellets into 40 mm steel rings. A ratio of
sample/binding agent of 5:1 is recommended (5 g sample + 1 g binding agent).
Samples without a steel ring are measured with an adapter for Ø 32 mm samples.
How to measure glass or melting pellets
Glass or melting pallets can be measured directly on the sample tray, depending
on size, with or without adapter for Ø 32mm samples.
Note
Glass pallets must always be measured on their "own" tray. Prior to the
measurement, all dust must be cleaned off the tray. A contaminated sample tray
will falsify the analysis.
