Monthly operator maintenance work
Energy channel recalibration (MCA). See Chapter 6.2.
Shutting down and rebooting the computer. See Chapter 5.2 and 5.3.
Shutting down and restarting the
spectrometer and repeating the start-up test
(testing the safety circuits).

Data backup (complete XAP directory).
Standardizing the instrument (global
recalibration)

Clean the sample tray. See Chapter 6.4.
Check the adhesive film in the discharge
reservoir for dirt, replace if necessary.

Replace the tray pads in the sample
chamber.
See Chapter 6.7.
Replace the "liquid protect cups" protective
film.
See Chapter 6.8.
Clean the sample rotation drive (do not
lubricate!).
Use a soft brush.
Vacuum system maintenance (optional). Changing the vacuum oil and cleaning the
oil mist filter. See Chapter 4.3.
