3.3.4 Personnel
Operating, maintenance and repair personnel, as well as anyone who is around
this vehicle lift should be aware of the possible dangers. This recommendation
applies regardless of other regulations that are issued by a higher authority or
included in a (safety) standard. The owner must ensure that employees are
qualified to perform the activities involved.
Employees must be aware of potential dangers.
Only trained and qualified operators may work on the vehicle lift. Inexperienced
operators can only work on the vehicle lift under supervision of an experienced
and trained person.
Persons under 16 years of age are prohibited from working on this vehicle lift in
any way whatsoever. Children under 14 years of age are not allowed in the
immediate vicinity of the installation.
When performing maintenance, always warn your colleagues at which location you
are working. Always turn the main switch to “O” and lock it with a padlock. If you
leave the vehicle lift unattended during maintenance, it is recommended to attach
a “DO NOT START” tag to the main switch and operator panel.
Working on or around the vehicle lift while under the influence of substances that
slow the ability to react is not permitted.
The following personal protection equipment is recommended for the engineer and
the user:
protective clothing,
gloves,
safety glasses,
ear protection,
safety shoes.
Do not wear loose-fitting clothing or jewelery.
