7.9.3 Request for repair
If the services of a Stertil engineer are required, it is necessary to have the
following information:
The serial number of the vehicle lift.
A clear description of the fault as accurate as possible.
7.9.4 Communication
In order to make a diagnosis and/or search for a solution of a fault possible, it is
preferred to explain the fault by phone, while standing nearby the vehicle lift.
7.9.5 Spare parts
Use only the spare parts as recommended by Stertil.
When ordering spare parts, always quote the serial number of the vehicle lift and
the item number.
7.10 Corrective maintenance procedures
7.10.1 Removal and installation of the lifting cylinder
Proceed as follows to remove the cylinder:
1. Remove the bolt and the retaining tube at the bottom of the guide block.
2. Press the [SELECT] button until the [SINGLE] button is illuminated. Then press
the [DOWN] button to lower the cylinder. It will take approximately 2 minutes
before the cylinder is fully lowered.
3. Uncouple the hydraulic coupling at the bottom of the cylinder.
4. Lift the cylinder about 3/4" to withdraw it from its seating on the bottom end.
5. Pull the cylinder forwards.
Proceed as follows to install the cylinder:
1. Place the cylinder inside the guide block and ensure that it drops into the seating
in the plate below the cylinder.
2. Make the hydraulic connection at the bottom of the cylinder.
3. Press the [UP] button to raise the cylinder. Release the button as soon as the
cylinder begins to raise the guide block (the head of the cylinder must protrude
through the hole in the top plate).
4. Fit the bolt and the retainer tube.
5. Then press the [DOWN] button to lower the cylinder.
6. Press the [UP] button and open the bleed valve until a continuous flow of oil
appears.
7. Close the bleed valve and fit the cap.
