Operation & Service Manual (VA) 67 ST1175
8 TROUBLESHOOTING
8.1 General
Faults in the column lifts can have simple causes. Check the installation for the
possible causes indicated.
If troubleshooting as described below fails to correct the malfunction, please
contact the service organization.
Most errors can be corrected without having to remove the vehicle from the
column lifts. However, it is strongly recommended that you do remove the vehicle
if the column lifts are completely lowered.
When troubleshooting or repairing the column lifts, set them to the lowest position.
If the malfunction makes this impossible, then ensure that all pawls are engaged in
the safety locks (lower without unlocking).
Turn off the main switch at the control box. Do this by turning the main switch to
the 0 position, then pull the mains plug.
Never loosen or remove any part of the hydraulic system without first placing the
column lifts in the lowest position or in the safety locks.
All repairs carried out on the column lifts by persons other than the technical
service (and the consequences thereof) are entirely at the user’s own risk.
Technical service is taken to mean either the Stertil technical service or another
technical service authorized by Stertil.
The following troubleshooting guide can be used to identify possible defects. If in
doubt, contact technical services.
8.2 Error messages
There are two tables on the inside of the control box to locate errors in the system.
The first table shows errors which can be specified at the 2x7-segment display on
the printed circuit board. The second table shows possible mechanical defects.
