7.3 Daily checks by the user
Perform the following checks daily:
1. Inspect the column lifts for visible damage.
2. Check whether there has been any oil leakage from the hydraulic unit, the hoses
or the cylinder.
7.4 Monthly maintenance
The following tasks must be carried out:
1. Check the operation of the safety locking feature as described in section Checking
the safety locking feature.
2. Check the emergency shutdown mechanism as described in section Checking the
emergency shutdown mechanism (on page 57).
3. Carry out the monthly lubrication program as set out in section Lubrication
instructions (on page 55).
If a task cannot be performed correctly, consult the technical service.
7.5 Annual maintenance by the technical service
The user must have the column lifts inspected once a year by the Stertil technical
services or another technical service authorized by Stertil (both hereafter referred
to as technical services). A maintenance subscription can be taken out with the
technical service for this annual inspection. In the event that no maintenance
subscription has been taken out, the user must make an appointment each year
for this inspection and servicing.
This inspection is signed off on the inspection checklist; see appendix Inspection
checklist (on page 104).
The following tasks must be carried out:
1. All daily and monthly inspections as described in the Operation Manual and
section Monthly maintenance.
2. Check the pneumatic spring as described in section Checking the pneumatic
spring(s).
3. Check oil level.
Remove the cover from the hydraulic unit. Make sure that the column is in its
lowest position and check the oil level on the dipstick.
4. Use hydraulic oil as specified in section Hydraulic oil.
