Driving brake pedal and inching
pedal
NOTE
We recommend that the driver familiarizes
himself with the efficacy of the braking appara-
tus when the forklift truck is not carrying a
load. Operate the forklift truck slowly on an un-
crowded road surface to test travelling func-
tions.
Driving brake pedal
Press the brake pedal(2)to slow or stop the
truck. At the same time, the brake lights come
on.
Inching pedal
– If the inching pedal (1) is depressed, the en-
gine is disengaged at the beginning of the
pedal travel. The service brake begins to
grip when the pedal is depressed further.
– Small, precise movements of the truck are
possible when you actuate the inching ped-
al (1) lightly if the accelerator pedal is actu-
ated as well. Actuate the pedal (1) in order
to move the truck gradually, even if the en-
gine is running at full capacity.

DANGER
At speeds that are too high, there is a danger that
the truck could slip or overturn!
The braking distance of the truck depends on the
weather conditions and the level of contamination on
the roadway. Note that the basic braking distance in-
creases with the square of the speed.
– Adapt your driving and braking style to suit the
weather conditions and the level of contamination
on the roadway.
– Always choose a driving speed that will provide a
sufficient stopping distance.
