PROBLEM
The head section fails to
lock automatically and
the foot section does not
return to a horizontal
position following the
use of the instant CPR
release.
SOLUTION
Call a qualified technician.
Have a qualified technician replace the
part.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Micro-switches detecting sleeping surface
movement are defective or connections
are faulty.
The PC board is defective.
Contour positioning
operates incorrectly.
Head and foot sections
of sleeping surface are
out of synchronization.
Set patient control command foot section
switch to the “ON” position. Refer to
Contour Positioning section, page 2-10, for
further information.
Unplug bed and call a qualified technician.
Unplug bed and have a qualified
technician replace the part.
The contour positioning mechanism is not
activated.
Micro-switches detecting relative positions
of sleeping surface sections are defective
or improperly connected.
The PC board is defective.
Brakes do not work when
locking system is locked.
The directional steering
caster is inoperative
when unlocked.
Clean caster and adjust brake and trans-
mission bars.
Replace casters showing signs of wear or
excessive use.
Mechanisms are dirty or improperly
adjusted.
One or more casters are damaged.
Safety side-rails jam, do
not lock in high position
or are difficult to latch.
Check bolting and adjust side-rails for
smooth operation.
Mechanisms are improperly adjusted.
When using the central
motor to raise or lower
bed, only the foot of bed
responds; the head does
not.
Adjust the clutch.
Refer to instructions on adjustment, page
3-9.
Slip clutch is improperly adjusted.
Trendelenburg and
reverse Trendelenburg
positions are difficult to
obtain.
Adjust clutch rod nuts.
Refer to instructions on adjustment, page
3-10.
The clutch rod nuts are improperly
adjusted.
Operating Problems
