Head Section Translating Screw
We recommend changing the ACME nut when replacing a
translating screw.
■ Uncouple translating screw from motor. Follow steps 1
through 9 in Motor section of this chapter.
1. Remove headboard and unscrew protective plate under bed, if need
be.
2. Unbolt head section lever (A) from ACME nut fork (B). Keep nylon
washers.
3. Once thigh and foot sections of sleeping surface have been
manually lowered to a horizontal position, raise head section and
fasten in place using a binder or a piece of rope.
4. Remove head screw bracket (C) and bearing plates (D) holding
bearing in place.
