PREPARATION PRIOR TO USE
Operation
Hospital beds must be properly installed and their operation checked
before they are put in service.
It is imperative that a visual inspection of material be conducted and bed
operation checked to ensure that no damage occurred during shipping.
SWITCHING ON POWER
1. Plug the bed into a 120V-60 Hz electric receptacle.
2. Place main switch (A) in the “ON” position.
Always plug bed into a three-prong hospital grade receptacle to
ensure that machine is grounded.
CHECKLIST
BED MOBILITY
■ Lock casters to make sure that they are working properly.
Refer to Moving the Bed section, page 2-6.
SLEEPING SURFACE POSITIONS
■ Raise and lower the head and thigh sections (B). Make sure they
operate smoothly and return to a horizontal position.
Refer to Bed Elevation and Elevation of Sections of Sleeping Surface section, page 2-3.
HEIGHT OF SLEEPING SECTION
■ Raise bed to its highest position and lower it to its intermediate
position. Movement should be smooth.

TRENDELENBURG POSITIONS
■ Made sure that the mechanism setting Trendelenburg positions is
operating correctly.
