REASSEMBLY
Assemble
the
countershaft
and
driveshaft,
in
the
reverse
order
of
disassembly. Pay
attention
to
following
points:
NOTE:
Before installing the gears,
lightly
coat
moly
paste
or
engine
oil
to the
driveshaft
and
countershaft.

When installing a
new
circlip, pay
attention
to
the
direc-
tion
of
the
circlip. Fit
it
to
the
side
where
the
thrust
is as
shown
in
the
illustration.
I A CAUTION I
* Never reuse a circlip.
After
a circlip has been removed
from
a
shaft,
it
should be discarded, and a
new
cir-
clip
must
be installed.
* When installing a
new
circlip, care
must
be taken
not
to
expand
the
end gap larger than required
to
slip
the
circlip
over
the
shaft.
*
After
installing a circlip,
always
insure
that
it
is com-
pletely
seated in
its
groove
and securely
fitted.
2ND DRIVE GEAR
Press-fit 2nd drive gear
CD
onto
the
countershaft.
NOTE:
Before reassembling,
coat
the
internal
face
of
the
2nd
drive
gear
with
THREAD
LOCK
SUPER
"1303".

NOTE:
Take care
not
to
smear
4th
drive
gear
with
THREAD
LOCK
SUPER
"1303".
NOTE:
*
After
mounting
the
2nd
drive gear,
check
that
4th
drive
gear
spins
smoothly
by
moving
it
with
your
fingers.
* This procedure
may
be
performed
only
twice
before
shaft
replacement is required.
3RD
DRIVEN GEAR BUSHING
When installing
the
gear bushing onto the drives haft, align
the
oil hole @
of
the
shaft
with
the
bushing oil hole @.
