7.16. DISASSEMBLING THE PEDAL CONNECTING RODS

Turn off the machine and unplug the mains lead
from the wall output.
Working from both sides:
1. Grip the chain with the gripper pliers.
2. Clamp the pliers on the frame guard to keep
the chain slack.
3. Unscrew the screw a fixing the
CONNECTING ROD to the pedal, using a 6-
mm hex T wrench.

4. Rest the CONNECTING ROD on the
ground.
5. Unscrew the pivot b using a 6-mm hex T
wrench, holding the inner nut c in place with
a 17-mm wrench.
6. Remove the CONNECTING ROD.
To reassemble the PEDAL CONNECTING
RODS, carry out the above steps in reverse
order.
Before reassembling the CONNECTING
RODS, lubricate the bushings with a
thin layer of chain grease.
