7.1.2 RS232 and USB Interfaces
As shown in Figure 7.1 the STS Module is equipped with RS232 and USB ports, that are used to communicate with
a computer.
Only one of the RS232/USB communications can be activated at one time. To activate RS232 communication it is
sufficient to connect the RS232 cable only; to activate USB communication it is sufficient to connect the USB cable
only.
Connecting to the Web site www.tecnoware.com it is possible to download free of charge the updated UPS
Management Software.
7.1.3 SNMP Interface
It is possible to use a SNMP (Single Network Management Protocol) Interface to connect the Modular UPS to a
LAN (Local Area Network). The SNMP interface is optional.
We advise you to follow the steps below explained to install the interface correctly:
1. Remove the metallic panel (see Figure 7.1) that covers the SNMP slot
2. Put the SNMP Interface into the slot and fix it with screws.
3. Connect the LAN cable to SNMP interface and follow the included instruction to make the interface working
well.
7.1.4 Extra Comm. Slot
There is an optional card, Extra Comm. Card, which can be inserted into this slot.
This option can enhance the communication capability of the Modular UPS. It provides an additional SNMP Slot, Dry
Contact I/P & O/P Signals and Temperature Sensors Ports.
7.1.5 LCD Port
This port is used to connect to the Control Panel.
