4.6 TABLE D PROCEDURES
D-1 VISUALLY CHECK THE SMOKE QUANTITY
EVACUATED FROM THE ENGINE EXHAUST
To check the quantity of smoke evacuated from the engine
exhaust, proceed as follows:
- Start the engine of the machine.
- Wait for a few minutes so the engine can warm up
correctly.
- Visually check that the amount of smoke coming
out of the exhaust is normal; repeat the check while
accelerating the engine.
CAUTION
Do this check outdoors or use an adequate smoke
extraction system.
NOTICE
In case of excess smoke, strictly obey the instruc-
tions provided in the relevant Use and maintenance
manual enclosed with the technical literature of the
machine.
D-2 CHECK THE TIGHTENING OF THE ENGINE
FIXING SCREWS
Every 6 months, check that the screws fixing the engine
to the machine chassis are tight.
For this operation, use a torque wrench and tighten the
screws to a torque of 146 Nm.
