B-4 CHECK THE TIGHTENING OF THE WHEEL
NUTS
If you have to check the tightening of the wheel bolts or
replace a wheel, proceed as follows:
- Raise the machine using a hydraulic jack
- Remove the wheel rolling it on the ground.
- Line up the wheel with the axle and fit the 8 nuts.
- Tighten the nuts following the alternate sequence
shown in the picture using a pneumatic screwdriving
machine.
- Lower the machine to the ground.
Re-tighten all nuts to a torque 400 Nm.
WARNING
Check the tightening of wheels one hour after the job.
They might get loose until they do not stay correct.
WARNING
On new machines, and when a wheel has been
disassembled or replaced, check the nut torque of
the wheels every 2 hours until they stay correct.
WARNING
Always use tyres having the dimensions indicated
in the vehicle registration card.
