Electrical System Voltmeter Diagnosis
This electrical system has a voltmeter installed in it. It is used as an aid to diagnose the
condition of the battery and electrical system. The following illustrations show how the
voltmeter indicates the condition of the battery, alternator, and voltage regulator and what
to so to correct the condition.
ENGINE NOT RUNNING OR RUNNING AT SLOW IDLE
Dead or disconnected battery. Disconnected or badly connected voltmeter.
Very low battery charge. Engine might not start.
Low battery charge. Constant reading in this area would indicate need for check on
alternator and voltage regulator.
