Moving the Unit
Removable Counterweight (T500-1 & T780)
INSTALLATION
NOTE: The counterweight slabs are an integral part of this crane. When the crane is
to be traveled at highway speeds, a portion of these slabs are intended to be moved
to and carried on the counterweight supports on the deck of the crane in order to
equalize the axle loading.
1. Lower the outrigger jacks to support the weight of the crane
2. Rotate the upper to a position straight over the rear of the crane.
3. With the crane still running, move to a position under the superstructure, face the
counterweight.
4. Lift both control levers to raise the counterweight slabs up tightly against the shell of
the counterweight.
