InstallingtheSteeringControlValve
Note:Inspectthethreadsandthesealingsurfacesofthehydraulicttings
andthehydraulichosespriortoinstallation.Replaceanydamagedorworn
ttingsorhoses.
1.LubricateandtnewO-ringsontothevalvettings.Installthettingsmaking
surethatthettinglocationandorientationisasnotedduringremoval.
Tightenttingsasspecied;refertoInstallingtheHydraulicFittings(SAE
StraightThreadO-RingFittings)(page4–10).
2.Positionsteeringcontrolvalvetosteeringmount.
3.Removeanyplugsandcapsfromthehydraulichosesandttings.Using
thelabelsplacedduringremoval,connectthehydraulichosestothevalve
ttings.Tightentheconnectionsasspecied;refertoInstallingHydraulic
HosesandTubes(O-RingFaceSeal)(page4–8).
4.Slidethesteeringcontrolvalve(withthehydraulichosesattached)intothe
steeringmountandsecureitwiththefour(4)capscrews.
5.Installthesteeringvalvecover.
6.Securethesteeringwheelcoverwiththetwo(2)screws.
7.Applyasmallamountofanti-seizelubricanttothesplinesandthetaperof
thesteeringcontrolvalveshaftandinstallthesteeringwheel,theatwasher
andthelocknut.Tightenlocknutfrom28to35N∙m(20to26ft-lb).
8.Chargethehydraulicsystem;refertoChargingtheHydraulicSystem(page
4–79).
