Spraying
UsingtheSprayer
Important:Inordertoensurethatyoursolution
remainswellmixed,usetheagitationfeature
wheneveryouhavesolutioninthetank.For
agitationtowork,youmustengagethePTOand
theenginemustberunningaboveanidle.Ifyou
stopthevehicleandneedtheagitationon,place
theshiftleverintheNEUTRALposition,engage
theparkingbrake,engagethePTO,engagethe
clutch,andsetthehandthrottle,ifequipped.
Note:ThisprocedureassumesthatthePTO
isengaged(HD-seriesmodelswithamanual
transmission)andtheboomsectionvalvecalibration
hasbeencompleted.

performingthefollowingsteps:
A.Ensurethattheswitchforthepumpisinthe
ONposition.
B.ForHD-seriesmodelswithamanual
transmission,selectthedesiredgearrange.
C.Begindrivingatyourtargetgroundspeed.
D.ForHD-seriesmodelswithamanual
transmissionorwithaautomatic
transmissionusedinthemanualmode,
verifythatthemonitordisplaysthecorrect
applicationrate.Ifneeded,adjustthe
application-rateswitchuntilthemonitor
displaysthedesiredapplicationrate.

automatictransmissionthatareoperated
intheautomaticmode,thecomputer
automaticallyadjuststhesprayerpressure
tomaintaintheapplicationrate.

8.Whennishedspraying,setthemaster-boom
switchtotheOFFpositiontoturnoffall
boom-segmentswitches,anddisengagethe
PTOlever(HD-seriesmodelswithamanual
transmission).

Modes
Important:Undersomeconditions,heatfrom
theengine,radiator,andmufercanpotentially
damagegrasswhenoperatingthesprayerina
stationarymode.Stationarymodesincludetank
agitation,handsprayingwithaspraygun,or
usingawalkingboom.
Usethefollowingprecautions:
•Avoidstationarysprayingwhenconditionsare
veryhotand/ordry,asturfcanbemorestressed
duringtheseperiods.
•Avoidparkingontheturfwhilestationaryspraying.
Parkonacartpathwheneverpossible.
•Minimizetheamountoftimethatyouleavethe
machinerunningoveranyparticularareaofturf.
Theextentofdamagetothegrassdependson
bothtimeandtemperature.
•Settheenginespeedaslowaspossibleto
achievethedesiredpressureandow.This
minimizestheheatgeneratedandtheairvelocity
fromthecoolingfan.
•Allowtheheattoescapeupwardfromtheengine
compartmentbyraisingtheseatassembliesduring
stationaryoperationratherthanbeingforcedout
underthevehicle.
