Thehydraulicuidowsthroughtherearleftandbypassesallothermotorsby
maskingthehydraulicconnections(Figure47).
1.Oncethetestequipmentisproperlyconnected,youcanruntheengineand
pumptowarmthehydraulicuidtooperatingtemperature.
Anytestprocedurethatrequiresanopenoruncappedline(likeacasedrain
leakcheck)wouldnotapply.Inthoseraresituations,thehydraulicuid
shouldbewarmedbeforedisconnectingthelines.
CAUTION
Beforeopeningthehydraulicsystem,operateallthehydraulic
controlstoreleasesystempressureandavoidinjuryfromthe
pressurizedhydraulicuid;refertoReleasingPressurefromthe
HydraulicSystem(page5–5).
2.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdeck,shutoffthe
engine,andsettheparkingbrake.
3.EnsurethatthetractionpedalisinNEUTRALposition.
4.ReadallWarning,Cautions,andprecautionslistedatthebeginningofthis
section.
5.Attachaheavychaintotherearofthemachineframeandanimmovable
objecttopreventthemachinefrommovingduringtesting.
6.Cleanthejunctionofthehydraulichoseandbottomleftsideofthetraction
pump.Disconnectthehydraulichosefrombottomleftsideofthetraction
pumptting.
IMPORTANT
Whencappinghydraulicmotorttingandhydraulichoseend,use
asteelcapandplugtoensurethattheuidleakagewillnotoccur.
Plasticplugswillnotholdhydraulicpressurethatwillbedeveloped
duringthistestprocedure.
7.PlaceasteelcaponTttingtoblockthehydraulicuidowtofrontrightand
rearrightwheelmotors.Alsoinstallthesteelplugsintheopenendofthe
disconnectedhosetopreventleakageorcontamination.
8.Installthetesterinserieswiththepumpandhose(Figure47).Makesure
thetesterisinstalledinthecorrectowdirectionandthetesterowcontrol
valveisopen.
9.Disconnectthehydrauliclinesfromtheleftfrontwheelmotorthatisnotbeing
tested(Figure47).Connectthehydrauliclineseachotherthatareremoved
fromtheleftfrontwheelmotortocompletetheclosedloopcircuit.Capthe
portsintheleftfrontwheelmotortopreventcontamination.
