IMPORTANT
Whencappingthehopperliftcylinderttingandhydraulichoseend,
useasteelcapandplugtoensurethatthereisnouidleakage.The
plasticplugscannotholdthehydraulicpressurethatisdeveloped
duringthistestprocedure.
5.Installasteelcapontheopenhopperliftcylinderttingtosealthelift
cylinder.Also,installasteelplugintheopenendofthedisconnectedhoseto
preventleakageorcontamination.
6.Removethehoppersafetylockandallowthehopperweightontothehopper
liftcylinder.
7.Thecappedhopperliftcylindershouldbeabletosupportthehopperlong
enoughforthemachinetotiltandcleanthehopper.
8.Ifthehopperliftcylinderallowsthehoppertolowertooquickly,replacethe
hopperliftcylinder;refertoHopperLiftCylinder(page5–118).
9.Oncethehopperliftcylinderconditionisdetermined,raisethehopperslightly
whichremovestheloadfromtheliftcylinder.
10.Lockthehopperliftcylinderwithhoppersafetylocktopreventitfrom
lowering.
11.Removethecapfromthecylinderttingandtheplugfromthehydraulichose.
12.Connectthehydraulichosetothehopperliftcylindertting.
13.Carefullyremovethehoppersafetylock.Starttheengineandoperatethe
hopperliftcylindersthroughseveralupanddowncycles.Shutofftheengine
andcheckforanyleakage.
14.Ifnecessary,repeatthesteps3through13forotherhopperliftcylinder.
15.Checkandllthehydraulictankwiththecorrectquantityofnewhydraulic
uidbeforereturningthemachinetoservice.
