InstallingtheLiftCylinder
1.Ifthehydraulicttingswereremovedfromtheliftcylinder,lubricatethenew
O-ringswithcleanhydraulicuid,positiontheO-ringstothettings,and
installthettingsintotheliftcylinderports;refertoInstallingtheHydraulic
Fittings(page5–10).Ensurethatthettingsareorientatedcorrectly.
2.Positiontheliftcylindertothechassis.
Note:Theliftcylinderbarrelendshouldbeattachedtothemachineframe.
3.Securetheliftcylindertothechassiswiththepin(12),washers(9and11)
andnut(10).
4.Aligntheliftcylindertotheliftarmmountingholes.Securetheliftcylinderto
theliftarmwiththepin(1),washer(4)andnut(5).
5.Removethecapsandplugsthatwereinstalledtothehydraulichosesand
ttingsduringtheremovalprocess.
6.PutacoatingofcleanhydraulicuidonnewttingO-rings,installtheO-rings,
andconnectthehydraulichosestothettingsontheliftcylinder.Tighten
thehoseconnections;refertoInstallingtheHydraulicHosesandTubes
(page5–8).
7.Lubricatetheliftcylindergreasettings.
8.Afteryoucompletetheassembly,ensurethatthehydraulichosesandttings
donotcontactanythingtothechassis.Also,checkforanyhydraulic-uid
leaks.
9.Checkthehydraulic-uidlevelinthehydraulictankandaddcorrectquantity
ofuidifnecessary;refertotheOperator’sManual.
10.Operatethemachinefunctionsslowlyuntilairisoutofsystem;referto
ChargingtheHydraulicSystem(page5–72).
11.Starttheengine,checkforhydraulic-uidleaks,repairanyleaksas
necessary,andllthehydraulictankwiththecorrectquantityofnewhydraulic
uidbeforereturningthemachinetoservice.
