RearAxleHousingBushings
Therearaxlesteeringspindleshaftsmusttsnuglyintherearaxle.Excessive
movementofthesteeringspindleshaftintheaxlemightindicatethattheange
bushings(5)arewornordamagedandmustbereplacedasbelow:
1.Removetherearaxlefromthemachine;refertoRemovingtheRearAxle
(page8–6).
2.Useabushingremovaltooltoextracttheangebushings(5)fromtherear
axle(6).
Note:Takecarenottodamageboreoftheboreduringthebushing(5)
removal.
3.Cleantheinsideoftheboretoremoveallthedirtandforeignmaterial.
4.Applyacoatofgreasetotheinsideandoutsideofthenewangebushings
(5).
5.Pressthebushings(5)intotherearaxle(6)bore.Pressthebushing(6)into
theboreuntiltheangeshoulderbottomsonthebore.
6.Installtherearaxleontothemachine;refertoInstallingtheRearAxle(page
8–7).
