7.Disconnectthehydraulichosesfromthesteeringcylinder(19).Putcapsor
plugsonallttingsandhosestopreventcontamination.
8.Removethesteeringcylinder;refertoRemovingtheSteeringCylinder(page
5–115).
9.Removetherearwheelmotor;refertoRemovingtheRearWheelMotor
(page5–96).
10.Ifnecessary,removethesteeringspindleassembly;refertoRemovingthe
SteeringSpindle(page8–11).
11.Removethenut(11),thrustwasher(12),bolt(16),washer(17)andnut(18)
thatsecuresthepin(14)tothechassis.
12.Supporttherearaxle(6)topreventitfromfalling.
13.Removethepin(14)thatsecurestherearaxle(6)tothechassis.Thiswill
releasetherearaxlefromthechassis.Carefullypulltheentireaxleassembly
fromthemachine.
14.Removetheadditionalrearaxlecomponentsasnecessary(Figure158).
15.Ifthebushingsintherearaxlearewornordamaged,replacethebushings;
refertoServicingtheRearAxle(page8–9).
InstallingtheRearAxle
1.Installalltherearaxlecomponentsthatwereremoved(Figure158).
2.Thoroughlycleantherearaxlepin(14).Inspectthepinforwearordamage
andreplaceifnecessary.
3.Applyacoatofgreaseontothesurfaceofthepin(14).
4.Carefullypositiontherearaxle(6)ontothechassisandsecurewiththepin
(14).
5.Securethepin(14)tothechassiswithbolt(16),washer(17),nut(18),thrust
washer(12)andnut(11).
6.Ifremoved,installthesteeringspindleassembly;refertoInstallingthe
SteeringSpindle(page8–12).
7.Installtherearwheelmotor;refertoInstallingtheRearWheelMotor(page
5–99).
8.Installthesteeringcylinder;refertoInstallingtheSteeringCylinder(page
5–117).
9.Installthewheels;refertoInstallingtheWheels(page7–4).
10.Lubricateallthegreasettingsintherearaxleassembly.
