Cutting Units
There are six grease fittings on each cutting unit which
must be lubricated using a No. 2 general purpose lithium
base grease (Fig. 11 & 12). A hand operated grease gun
is recommended for best results.
IMPORTANT: Lubricating cutting units immediate-
ly after washing helps purge water out of bearings
and increases bearing life.
1. Park machine on a level surface, lower cutting units,
stop engine, engage parking brake, and remove key
from the ignition switch.
2. Wipe each grease fitting with a clean rag.
IMPORTANT: Do not apply too much pressure or
grease to the rollers, seals may become permanent-
ly damaged.
3. Grease reel bearings as follows:
A. Hydraulic motor end; apply grease until grease
starts to come through the weep hole, or pressure is
felt against handle.
B. Counterbalance end; apply grease until it starts
to come through the weep hole or the seal inside
counter balance hole.
4. Apply grease to front and rear rollers until it begins
to show around seal lips. Apply grease to rear rollers un-
til it begins to show around the end washers.
5. Wipe excess grease away.
