RemovingtheEngine
1.Parkmachineonalevelsurface,lowercuttingunits,stopengineandremove
keyfromthekeyswitch.Chockwheelstokeepthemachinefrommoving.
2.Unlatchscreenatrearofmachine.Liftscreenfromhingesandremove
screenfrommachine.
3.Disconnectnegative(-)andthenpositive(+)batterycablesfrombattery;
refertoServicingtheBattery(page7–125).
4.Ifengineistobedisassembled,drainoilfromengine.
5.Openandsupporthood.
CAUTION
Donotopenradiatorcapordraincoolantiftheradiatororengineis
hot.Pressurized,hotcoolantcanescapeandcauseburns.
Ethylene-glycolantifreezeispoisonous.Disposeofcoolantproperly,
orstoreitinaproperlylabeledcontainerawayfromchildrenand
pets.
6.Draincoolantfromradiator;refertoRadiatorandOilCoolerAssembly(page
5–17).
7.Removeaircleanerfrommachine;refertoAirCleanerAssembly(page3–8).
8.Removeexhaustsystemfrommachine;refertoExhaustSystem(page3–11).
9.Disconnecthosesfromengine:
A.Loosenhoseclampsandthenremoveupperandlowerradiatorhoses
fromtheengine.
