DisassemblingtheCuttingReelMotor

Disassemblemotorforcleaning,inspection,andsealreplacementonly.
1.Installcleanplugsinthemotorportsandcleantheoutersurfaceofthemotor.
Aftercleaning,removetheplugsanddrainthehydraulicuidoutofthemotor.

2.Useamarkertomakeadiagonallineacrossthefrontange,body,andrear
coverforassemblypurposes(Figure174).
IMPORTANT
Whenyouclampthemotorinavise,clampthefrontangeonlyto
preventdamage.Also,useaviseequippedwithsoftjaws.
3.Clampthefrontangeofthemotorinavisewiththeshaftenddown.
4.Loosenthesocket-headscrewsfromtherearofthebody.
5.Removethemotorfromthevise.Turnthemotorsothattheshaftendis
facingdown,andremovethesocket-headscrewsandwashers.
6.OnReelmaster5510and5610seriesreelmotor,separatetherearcover
fromthebodyandlifttherearcoverfromthemotor.
7.Liftthebodystraightupandcarefullyremoveit.Ensuretherearwearplate
remainsonthedriveandidlergearshafts.
8.RemoveanddiscardtheO-ringsfromthebody.Locateandretrievethe
dowelpins.
