groomerplate.Ensurethatthespringisinthestudgrooveandthatthe
springhookispositionedtowardthedrivepulley.
E.Securethequick-upballjointrodtothedrivesideofthegroomerplate
withtheshoulderbolt(Figure377).Applyanti-seizelubricanttothe
shoulderoftheshoulderboltbeforeinstallation;torquetheshoulderbolt
to23to28N∙m(17to21ft-lb).
F.Slidethepulleyspacer(item20inFigure376)andwasher(s)ontothe
groomershaft.
G.Applyanti-seizelubricanttothesquarekey(item16inFigure376)that
locatesthedrivepulley.Positionthekeyintotheshaftslot.
Note:Topreventthecuttingreelfromturningwheninstallingthedrive
pulley,blockthecuttingreelwithapieceofwood.
H.ApplyLoctite#243tothethreadsoftheange-headscrewthatsecures
thedrivepulleytothepivothubshaft.Slidethedrivepulleyontothe
shaftandsecurewiththeange-headscrew;torquethescrewto37
to44N∙m(27to33ft-lb).
Note:T opreventthegroomershaftfromturningwheninstallingthe
drivenpulley,useawrenchonthegroomershaftats.
I.Applyanti-seizelubricanttothedrivenpulleysplinesonthegroomer
shaft.Slidethedrivenpulleyontothegroomershaftandsecurewiththe
angenut;torquetheangenutto37to44N∙m(27to33ft-lb).

driveanddrivenpulleysshouldbeinlinewithin0.76mm(0.030inch).If
necessary,alignpulleysbyremovingthedrivenpulleyandinstallingor
removingthewasher(s)betweenthedrivenpulleyandthepulleyspacer.
K.Afterthepulleysarealigned,installthegroomerdrivebeltandgroomer
beltcover;refertoReplacingtheGroomerDriveBelt(page10–7).
5.Checkthattheexcludersealsjusttouchthegroomerplateassembly.
