Note:Cuttingunitswithaluminumsideplatesuseagroomerdriveshaftthat
threadsintothecuttingreelshaft(Figure388).Thepivothubonthesecutting
unitsdoesnotuseinternalcomponentstosupportthegroomerdriveshaft.Also,
thegroomerdriveshaftdoesnothavetoberemovedfromthecuttingreelshaftin
ordertoremovethepivothub.
DisassemblingtheGroomerPivotHub
1.Removethepivothubassembly(withtheidlerplate)fromthecuttingunit;
refertotheGroomerPlateAssembly(page10–9).
2.Removetheretainingringthatsecurestheidlerplatetothepivothub.Slide
theidlerplatefromthepivothub.
3.Ifequipped,removeanddiscardtheO-ringfromtheangeofthepivothub.
4.Ifthecuttingunithascastironsideplates,disassemblethepivothub(Figure
387andFigure390)asfollows:
A.Removetheretainingringthatretainstheballbearingintothepivothub.
