1.Ifthecuttingunithascastironsideplates,assemblethepivothub(Figure
387andFigure390)asfollows:
A.Installthebearingonthedriveshaftbypressingequallyontheinner
andouterbearingraces.Installthebearingsothatthebearingsealis
closesttotheshoulderontheshaft.Installtheretainingringontothe
shafttoretainthebearing.
B.Installthenewgreasesealintothehousingwiththelipofthesealtoward
theoutsideofthehousing.Applygreasetothelipoftheseal.
C.Fillthecavitybetweenthebearinglocationandthegreaseseal50%to
75%fullwithhigh-temperatureMobilXHP-222grease(orequivalent)
(Figure390).
D.Carefullyslidetheshaftandbearingfullyintothepivothubboreand
ensurethatyoudonotdamagethegreaseseal.Installtheretainingring
tosecurethebearinginthepivothub.
