5800 Operation

WinFlash Software
WinFlash communicates with Trimble products to perform various
functions including:
• installing software, firmware, and option upgrades
• running diagnostics (for example, retrieving configuration
information)
• configuring radios
For more information, online help is also available when using
WinFlash.
Note – WinFlash runs on Microsoft Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, Me, or
XP operating systems.

Installing WinFlash
WinFlash can be installed from the Trimble R7, Trimble R8, 5700, and
5800 GPS Receivers CD, or from the Trimble website.
Installing WinFlash from the CD
1. Insert the disk into the CD drive on your computer.
2. From the main menu select Install individual software
packages.
3. Select Install WinFlash vX.XX with 5700/5800 drivers and
firmware.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Upgrading firmware
Your 5800 receiver is supplied with the latest version of receiver
firmware installed. If a later version becomes available, upgrade the
firmware installed on your receiver.
