2. 120-Volt Operation:
Open the water heater compartment door. Find
the selector switch and set it to 120-volt. Refer to
the operating instructions included in the infor-
mation package.
3. Motor Aid Water Heater (Commander Only):
Your motorhome is equipped with a system
whereby heat from the engine cooling system
is used to heat water in your fresh water system
while you are driving. This is referred to as a “mo-
tor aid”. Hoses from the engine cooling system
are routed to a heat exchanger surrounding the
water heater tank. As a rule, the water in the
heater tank will be heated to about 140 degrees F
in about 2 hours or 100 miles of driving time. This
means that you will have hot water at the faucets
when you arrive at your campsite or any time
while you are driving. The motor aid water heater
also provides additional cooling capacity to your
engine cooling system allowing the engine to run
cooler under hot conditions.
4. Operating Features:
a. The water heater is equipped with a preset
water temperature control. The burner will
bring the water temperature up to the de-
sired level and then automatically shut o.
b. It is also equipped with a temperature cut-o
device in case the water temperature exceeds
the preset limit. The breaker will trip and
shut down the burner. Before the burner will
restart, the breaker will have to be reset. If it
continues to trip, have the unit checked and
serviced. Refer to manufacturers operating
instructions included in the information pack-
age.
12.3.3 SHOWER
To protect the surface of your ABS plastic shower
pan, it is recommended that a rubber shower mat be
placed in the shower pan.
Use a non-abrasive cleaner to clean your shower com-
partment. Do not use highly concentrated or high
acid content household cleaners, as these may dam-
age the shower compartment.
12.3.2 TOILET
Refer to manufacturer's operating instructions includ-
ed in information package for more details.
Troubleshooting:
1. Water keeps running into the bowl:
Check to see that the levers return all the way to
the left. Sticking may be caused by foreign mate-
rial on the waste valve blade or blade seal at the
bottom of the bowl. If problem persists, replace
water valve.
2. Toilet leaks, there is water on the oor:
If the leak is in back of the toilet, check the water
supply line connection and refer to the installa-
tion instructions. If the leak is at the closet ange
area, check the closet ange nuts for tightness.
If leak continues, remove the toilet and check
the closet ange height. The height should be
between 1/4" and 7/16" above the oor. Adjust
accordingly and replace the closet ange seal if
damaged.
3. Poor Flush:
The levers must be held fully open during the
ush. A good ush should be obtained within 2
to 3 seconds. If the problem persists, remove the
water supply line and check the water supply. The
water supply line ow rate should be at least 8
liters per minute to ensure an adequate ush.
CAUTION
Should you ever develop a leak in the en-
gine cooling system, do not forget to check
the motor aid water heater supply hoses
and connections for leaks in addition to the
regular cooling system area.
IMPORTANT
Be sure there is water in the hot water tank
to prevent burning out the heating ele-
ment when the power is turned on.
