4.15 WATER / PLUMBING SYSTEM
A motorhome plumbing system consists of fresh,
grey and black water tanks plus a water heater and
plumbing. Be sure to review, understand and follow
all operating instructions for the system.
4.15.1 WATER HEATER
The water heater is located next to an outside wall
and is only accessible from the outside. All water
heaters are designed to operate using either 120 volt
electric power, LP gas or motor aid. Both electric and
gas power sources require water in the tank before
starting to heat water or the element or tank will burn
out.
A To select electric power:
1. Open water heater access door on the side of
the vehicle.
2. Remove the click pin lock through the rocker
switch. (Fig. 4-21)
3. Depress the on portion of the switch to turn
the power on to the electric heating element.
IMPORTANT
The electric water heating system will operate when
turned on only when there is sucient 120 volt AC
power available. If there is no or insucient power, the
system will revert back to gas to heat the water.
4. Refer to the operator's manual in the Infor-
Do not touch the heater canister and burner ex-
haust vent. These components are extremely hot
and contact can cause serious burns.

B To select LP gas only:
1. Depress the o portion of the rocker switch
2. Secure the click pin.
3. Turn the water heater switch (located on the
monitor panel) to the 'on' position.
C Motor Aid
The motor aid circulates engine coolant through
the heater to heat up the water while traveling.
This will operate at all times when the engine is
running.
IF YOU SMELL GAS
1. Extinguish any open ame, pilot lights and all smoking mate-
rial.
2. Do not touch electrical switches.
3. Shut o thegas supply at the container valve(s) or gas supply
connection.
4. Open doors and other ventilating openings.
5. Leave the area until the odour clears.
6. Have the gas system checked and leakage source corrected
before using again.
