1.7.1.3 Carbon Dioxide/Methane Gases • Infrared Sensor
This sensor is highly specific to the selected gas and exhibits
consistent sensing accuracy with superior long-term stability.
The linear response means that it can be calibrated for low gas concentrations and
high concentrations up to 100% by volume.

Carbon Dioxide Sensors - Normal atmosphere contains carbon dioxide which
will affect the sensor signal so nitrogen gas must be used to accurately calibrate
the zero value. The sensor should be powered-up and the nitrogen applied for at
least 5 minutes to ensure that the sensor has stabilised.
