CHECKING LIFT CHAIN

Use extreme care when checking lift chain tension.
Check the chains for cracks or
broken links and pins.
Check lift chain tension
periodically. Lift up the forks
slightly and depress the
midpoint of the lift chain with a
board.
Deection:
25 - 35 mm (0.98 - 1.38 in)
If the deection is not within the specications, have the chain adjusted
by your Local Authorized Dealer.
FORK INSPECTION
Ensure the forks are secured in their proper position and they are not
damage.

Forks in use shall be inspected at intervals of not more
than 12 months (for single shift operations) or whenever
any damage or permanent deformation is detected. Severe
applications will require more frequent inspection. (see ANSI/
ITSDF B56.1 Section 6.2.8 for inspection and repair of forks in
service on forklift trucks.)
Individual Load Rating of Forks. When forks are used in pairs
(the normal arrangement), the rated capacity of each fork
shall be at lease half of the manufacturer's rated capacity of
the truck, and at the rated load center distance shown of the
truck's data plate.
Fork inspection shall be carried out carefully by trained
personnel with the aim of detecting any damage, failure,
deformation, etc., which might impair safe use. Any fork that
shows such damage shall be withdrawn from service, and
shall not be return to service unless it has been satisfactorily
repaired in accordance with ANSI/ITSDF B56.1-2012
standards.
