SAFE OPERATING INSTRUCTION
Reverse
Most 2-wheeled vehicles do not provide a reverse option, making the Volcon
Grunt EVO unique. To help prevent anxiety, panic or an accident we
recommend the following:
- Check your surroundings before using the reverse option. Ensure
there are no potential obstructions, bystanders or obstacles in your
intended path.
- Keep your speed low and do not back up for long distances.
- Do not back up in tight spaces or close objects/obstructions.
- Apply minimal throttle when first engaging reverse, this will minimize
sudden movement or jerk.
NOTE: Removing pressure from the down arrow on the D-Pad, even with
throttle engaged, will automatically put the vehicle back in Neutral. You will
need to engage reverse, again, in order to continue with your reverse path.
Emergency Mode (E-Mode) Button
The Volcon Grunt EVO provides a manual safety option to help cycle through
drive modes in the event of component damage or signal failure.
This safety feature should only be used in the following events:
- D-Pad or Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) has been damaged.
- D-Pad will not respond to touch or selection.
- The vehicle has dropped into Neutral while riding.
- The vehicle will not move away from Neutral with use of the D-Pad.
Safety Tether
The Volcon Grunt EVO is equipped with a safety tether. The device acts as a
“kill switch” when connection is lost. The power signal ONLY to the throttle is
disrupted. The EVO remains powered, however the throttle will not engage
until the tether is reconnected.
