MAINTENANCE
Cleaning
The belt does not require cleaning unless debris is caked on. If the belt has
caked on mud, dirt, or debris; remove excess by hand and rinse with clean
water. The belt does not require chemicals or soaps. Never use oil, grease, or
belt dressing.
If debris has penetrated or pierced the belt or damaged the belt in any way,
the belt must be replaced. Contact your local authorized Volcon dealer for
service. Visit www.volcon.com to find a dealer near you.
The belt does NOT require lubrication.
CAUTION Belt drives are designed for minimal friction. The use of
lubricants can potentially damage the belt and will void any manufacturing
warranty.
Belt Tension/Adjustment
The belt does not require much maintenance with respect to tension.
However, when adjustments are needed, special tools are required. We
recommend the Gates® Carbon Drive app, which can be downloaded from
your smart device’s app store, OR a Belt Tension Meter.
● Gates® Carbon Drive application: This application measures belt
tension sonically. Download the app from your smart device’s app
store by searching for “Gates Carbon Drive”.
Simply pluck your belt like a guitar string and use the microphone on
your phone or smart device to read the vibration frequency.
Compare your motorcycle belt frequency to the included chart to
see if you need to adjust the tension.
