MAINTENANCE
Your BMS system is designed to place the battery in “Deep Sleep Mode” if
cell voltage levels drop below a designated threshold. This may occur for a
variety of reasons but the most common are 1)the battery is not used over a
long period of time; more than 30 days, 2) the battery is allowed to sit at
state of charge less than 30% for longer than 30 days, or 3) the power is left
on the motorcycle allowing the battery to drain past 0%.
If your battery exhibits the following it is most likely in “Deep Sleep Mode:
- Your display on the battery will not operate AND
- Your battery will not power on your motorcycle AND
- Your battery displays 100% when connected to the charger, but will
not display anything or reads 0% when disconnected from the
charger.
When the battery falls into “Deep Sleep Mode”, it must be recovered by an
authorized Volcon dealer. Please visit www.volcon.com to find a dealer near
you. You may also contact service@volcon.com for further information.
Batteries determined not to be maintained as suggested in the “maintenance
cycle” will not qualify for warranty coverage.
Charging
The battery can be charged away from the motorcycle or installed in the
motorcycle. Removing the battery from the EVO whenever possible is
suggested.
The Grunt EVO uses a switchable power supply/charger with inputs at
110V/60Hz or 220V/50Hz. The charger output is 67.2V, the charge current at
10A, and the charge watts of 670W. Check the rear of the charger to see if
the switch has “110V” fully exposed. If not, properly slide the switch until the
switch is fully seated and the “110V” is fully visible.
