MAINTENANCE
Review/Use after Long-Term Storage:
1. Immediately place the battery to charge to 100% state of charge. DO
NOT use it before the full charge cycle is complete.
2. Run or discharge the battery to less than 5% for the first use after
long-term storage. [recommend a short route, close to home base].
3. Recharge the battery to 100% before the next ride cycle or store the
battery away for the next ride.
As with any other battery-powered units, there is an expectation to properly
review, maintain and store your battery. Batteries determined not to be
properly cared for or maintained as suggested in the “maintenance cycle” will
void warranty coverage.
Low Power Mode
After 1.5 hours of inactivity, the battery will enter a low-power mode to
reduce self-consumption. Very similar to your computer going into sleep
mode and reviving if the mouse is moved. The EVO battery will reactivate by
connecting to a charger or plugging into the motorcycle and powering on.
Battery Temperature
The EVO is an electric trail bike designed for off-road operation under Stroll,
Explore and Sport modes. Sport mode offers the highest level of performance
and draws the highest level of current from the lithium battery. Sustained
high load operations may create an elevated battery temperature. At higher
temperatures the battery is designed to reduce speed until it cools to a
normal operating temperature. While the actual cooling time depends on
previous run time and ambient temperature, generally the battery will cool
to an operational temperature in approximately 10 minutes.
Please make sure to register your Grunt EVO on our website at
www.volcon.com under the owners section at warranty registration.
Registration is fast and simple and will help with providing service, warranty,
or answering general questions regarding your motorcycle.
