9.15 Replacing the Diodes
Prerequisites
• Solder (Flux core 60-40)
• Soldering iron (<10 Watts)
• Heat sink putty or two alligator clips to act as heat sinks
•Epoxy
Procedure
Follow the procedure below to replace the diodes.
9.15.1 Remove the rear access panel (a) from the machine.
9.15.2 Remove the cover (b) from the generator.
9.15.3 Rotate the engine until a diode (c) is accessible .
9.15.4 Cut the diode wires near the diode and remove the diode from the
holder (d).
9.15.5 Do not remove the existing (old) wires (i); clean them instead.
