8.2. Clean Extruder
The Clean Extruder command is used to turn the extruding screw and purge the material.
It is especially important when needed:
• switch from one material to another
• load a new extruder with material
• check if the nozzle is clogged or not
• check if the machine is able to extrude a given material
Before launching the Clean Extruder command, it is necessary to set the correct nozzle and barrel temperatures
according to the material in use.
Once the Clean Extruder command has been launched, the screw will begin to turn and, if possible, to extrude
material.
Based on a timer that can be viewed on the display, the extruder will stop turning automatically after a certain
time.
It is possible to stop the operation prematurely with the STOP button on the display.
Thorough cleaning
To clean the screw of any debris or remnants of previous material, it is also possible to remove the nozzle as
indicated in par 7.2.5 Nozzle and then launch the command without an extruder.
Remember to reassemble the nozzle after the operation.
