If your Yamaha Outboard Motor engine isn't starting, there are several potential solutions: * Ensure sufficient oil and fuel levels by adding oil or fuel if needed. * Consider replacing old fuel. * Clean or replace components as necessary. * Make sure the fuel cock lever is set to the “ON” position. * Clean or replace the fuel tank or fuel hose. * Re-gap or replace the spark plug. * If the ignition spark gap is OK, the ignition system is OK. * Replace the ignition coil or spark plug cap. * Clean components. * Decarbonize the combustion chamber if there are carbon deposits. * Adjust the valve clearance. * Resurface or replace the valve face and valve seat. * Correct issues. * Rebore or replace parts as needed.
